Madshrimps take a look at the performance of mid-range products from HIS, Powercolor and Sparkle. Which VGA card can provide you with the most bang for the buck?

Coming to the end of our review we conclude the HIS X1950Pro IceQ III Turbo to be the fastest mid range card we tested yet. Over the whole line both X1950 Pro's are faster then Sparkle's 7900GS, and in some games that made the difference between not playable and acceptable gameplay.

If we take price into consideration you might choose the Sparkle, for only 175 euros it's the cheapest card we covered here. People wanting the most bang for their money should pick up the PowerColor X1950Pro, do keep in mind that HIS and Sparkle come with a PC game, so that might just change things a bit. Modders will certainly like the HIS card: a fancy heatsink offering silent gaming and looking very fancy due to the added sensitivity to UV-light.

At the end it all comes down to how much money you like to spend out and how much performance you want. Go for high performance with HIS or keep it cheap with Sparkle, or choose for both and stay with the PowerColor. The cards are so close price/performance wise that you won't have a bad buy with either of those.
