Sony has announced a new range of flash drives that include support for Type-C, as well as for the Type-A port found on older devices. The new USB 3.1 Gen1 CA1-series drives will be offered in 16GB, 32GB and 64GB sizes. Sony says that they feature "dual connectors", making them "compatible with Windows, Macintosh, Android and Chromebook devices equipped with Type-C and Type-A ports". It adds that the drives combine "up to 130MB/s transfer speed (read) with durability and design", and have a "slim and tiny" form factor with metallic bodywork. Annoyingly, Sony stopped short of revealing how much the new drives will cost, but it did say that they'll be available to buy sometime next month.
