The Smart ForTwo with a 60 horsepower engine is good for for running errands,
quick scoots around town but Peter Bee was unsatisified and turned to Z Cars to
add a little boost to his compact commuter. Z Cars are well known for cramming
powerful engines in cars like Mini etc.
Z Cars managed to squezze in a 180-hp GSXR1000 motor into Peter's car and
after that this little baby does not run but fly, it zips from 0 to 60 mph in
4.2 seconds, 1/4 mile in 12.4 seconds and tops out at 132mph. Definitely
not your average Smart! Peter says running up to the traffic lights at 13,500rpm
is always amusing since other drivers move over when they hear what sounds like
a bike coming up fast :-D What happens when you have so much power under the
hood you challenge the mighty Ferrari F430 for a drag race?
Check out this video!
That's a great video, but the Ferrari obviously had a bad driver, and a bad
start. The F430 Road & Track tested ran the 1/4 mile in 11.7 seconds.
