Destructoid was provided images and information regarding a GameStop credit card that features an insanely high interest rate of 26.99%. At present, the average interest rate (APR) is about 13% for cards like this. Reportedly, anybody that is a PowerUp Rewards member is already pre-approved for the card. Those who use the card will get 15,000 bonus points for signing up if you are a Pro Member and 5,000 points for being a Basic PowerUp member. The sources close to Destructoid have been unable to say specifically when GameStop plans to roll this plan out to consumers.

While that interest rate is insanely high, chances are if you are shopping at GameStop on a regular enough basis to be a PowerUp Pro member, you probably don't much care about your financial situation that much to begin with. For everyone else, it may end up being a hard lesson in how to handle finances if they think this card will let them pick up a new piece of hardware without hassle.
