Acer has finally
announced the availability of its giant sized 20.1" Aspire 9800 notebook in
the North American market. The Aspire 9800 is definitely not a "mobile" notebook
and it would probably be a bit heavy to put in your lap given its weight of
17.2lbs. It is powered by Intel Core Duo T2600 (2.16-GHz) processor and
runs on 1 GB of DDR2 memory, GeForce Go 7300 (256MB) graphics module, and has up
to 240GB of storage (120GB x 2). What it does do is double as a fantastic
entertainment center, especially due to the integrated HD-DVD drive. Its
20.1-inch CrystalBrite WXGA+ display is perfect for watching movies through the
HD-DVD drive, or optional slot-loading DVD-Super Multi double-layer drive. Other
specs include a 1.3-megapixel camera, Bluetooth 2.0 module, 802.11 a/b/g WLAN,
integrated hybrid TV tuner (analog/digital), VoIP Bluetooth phone, 4-watt
subwoofer, and 3-watt speakers. The Acer Aspire 9800 isn't exactly cheap with
prices starting at $2,800, but it is available now for your wallet crushing
pleasure.
