In a new report posted by ChinaTimes it has been outlined that Nvidia's upcoming “Ampere” GPUs will indeed use TSMC's 7nm process node technology, while the next-generation “Hopper GPU family would likely be based on Samsung's 5nm EUV process node.

This said brief report didn't confirm Nvidia will be using 7nm for Ampere, while the first sentence appeared to be saying so, it was merely a conclusion from internet rumor summarized into a sentence, followed by information released from recent Samsung's quarterly statement, which is of course misleading.
The report stated in the end that the real answer will only be given by NVIDIA's CEO on GTC 2020. (which is also an assumption, again a clear demonstration of Taiwanese journalism's lower quality) |
