What would be a good Internet Security Suite (antivirus + antispyware) with the following specifications?:

- Does not slow the system
- Fast scan engine
- Automatic updates that work

1) AVG (PDF manual)
http://free.grisoft.com/freeweb.php

2) Zone Alarm Free / Kerio Personal Firewall

Kerio Personal Firewall 2.1.5 was the last freeware version that was strictly a firewall and not bundled with extra features that hog resources and slow down your system performance.

3) Ad-Aware SE / Spybot S&D

Pardon the late reply.

NOD antivirus is amazing. $40 per year. I very rarely had viruses before because I know what I'm doing, but since I've installed NOD I haven't had 1 virus infect me. It's also one of the least if not THE least performance impacting antiVirs.

The new Kaspersky 6, it even detects the shitty quicktime bundle being installed during iTunes, and you can prevent it from being installed Laughing
god bless Quicktime Alternative.

That's great. Kaspersky Anti-virus is becoming the best in the industry with updates every hour and good stability. It is used by experts that don't want the hassle that Norton and McAfee throw at them. But at the price, Personal (home users) is one of the most expensive packages here $63.92 (two years licence)

I'm using Sunbelt Kerio Personal Firewall (Free) + Avast Antivirus Personal (Free).

I used Norton Internet Security before, and tried countless other Firewall+Antivirus combinations and security suites afterwards. I still think Norton solution provides best security, but for this price (both free) i think that this combination that i now have is feature and security wise very close to Norton.
