In videos from last weekend, we learned that the PS3 fat boots itself faster than the PS3 Slim, but the Slim had the edge when it came to loading games. Now with new PS3 Firmware 3.0, the PS3 Slim loads games even faster... up to 25% faster according to Eurogamer on a Devil May Cry 4 installation. YouTube user PS3slimComparison did a PS3 Slim Firmware 2.80 vs 3.00 Uncharted 1 level load comparison and the difference is really considerable.



However, the official Playstation 3 forum has a�growing number of threads where users claiming that the new 3.0 firmware update has somehow made their DualShock pads not work, or made their games freeze. Now, there is always a certain number of users after every upgrade, be it Xbox 360 or PS3, that claim it has broken their system, but this seems to be a bit more. The users specifically name the white wireless DualShock pad and its now-inability to sync up with the console. On top of that, other users are experiencing issues with games freezing, mostly Drake's Fortune, with the game crashing mid-session. This is apparently happen with the PS3 SLIM as well as the older units.
