Looks like the
PS3 Slim has already hit retail shelves.
A Best Buy location in Brandon, Florida had dozens of PS3 Slim consoles
in stock and ready to go at $299.99. In PS3 related
news,
to limit customers from trading in 80GB PS3
consoles purchased within the last month for PS3 Slim
consoles, Best Buy corporate is telling store managers to offer
customers their choice of 1 of 3 games: Killzone 2, Infamous, or MLB 09
The Show. Not a bad deal if you don't need the larger hard drive or the
Slim's smaller size. Of course, that this isn't a program the company
is actively promoting. The deal only applies to customers interested in
exchanging their PS3 80GB for a new Slim, which sports a larger 120GB
HDD and $299.99 price tag. According to a comment from a supposed BB
employee, the retailer will also offer customers $100 cash back if you
purchased a PS3 for $399.99 in the last 30 days in addition to the game
deal.
In addition,
Engadget got their hands on Target's circular
for next week which confirms the $300 Xbox 360 Elite and lists the 60GB
Xbox 360 Pro for $250. To further differentiate themselves from other
retailers, Target will also offer a free second controller with both
consoles "while supplies last." The action begins this Sunday.
