Google has
announced significant reductions to its Play Store fees following its legal settlement with Epic Games, dropping the standard service fee for in-app purchases from 30% to 20% and to 10% for recurring subscriptions. Developers can now avoid an additional 5% Google Play Billing Fee by using alternative billing systems in the US, UK, and Europe. Qualifying developers in new programs like Google Play Games Level Up or the Apps Experience Program will enjoy a further reduced 15% service fee on new installs. The changes begin rolling out in the US, UK, and Europe by June 30, with full global implementation targeted for September 30, 2027. Google is also launching a Registered App Store program to support qualified third-party app stores with simplified installation flows, starting later this year outside the US
