NVIDIA has issued a
critical security update addressing multiple high-severity vulnerabilities in its GPU Display Driver, vGPU software, and HD Audio components. That could enable attackers to execute arbitrary code and escalate privileges on affected systems. The vulnerabilities, disclosed on January 28, 2026, impact Windows and Linux platforms across GeForce, RTX, Quadro, NVS, and Tesla product lines.
No gaming or general bug fixes are listed beyond the security updates. That said, NVIDIA does note a couple of known issues, including slight text distortion in Counter-Strike 2 when running below native resolution, and occasional light flickering in Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth on certain system configurations. As mentioned, this driver is intended for users still running older GeForce graphic cards, and NVIDIA recommends installing it to avoid potential security risks.
